About Me
- MrsSchmidt
- I wouldn't call myself an expert at film history, but I've always had an interest in it. Years ago, I took my first film analysis class and it changed the way I thought about movies when I watched them. It opened my mind and broadened my perspective in a way that made movie watching so much more enjoyable. Now when I watch movies I'm able to look beyond the surface story and really dig into the heart of the film maker's message. I notice things like color and camera angles and it makes me feel like I know more about the movie than the average Joe. The whole movie experience has changed for me and I hope that this class opens the same doors for you as well.
In my opinion, I think that sound has mostly influenced film in the 1900s. I think that sound is more important to film because sound is what gives film effection and emotion. Color isn't as important as sound is to film.
ReplyDeleteI think the introduction of sound was more important than the introduction of color. I think this because sound has more possibilities than color. Sound allows the director to use background music, dialogs, and special effects.

In my opinion sound is more important than color. I believe this becuase sound can really grab the attention of the viewer. Sound has an extremely wide range, more so than color, and it also can have a big impact on the film.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that sound influenced film the most. Sound has more of an impact in films because it shows emotion. It also expresses what the character feels at that moment when they say their lines.

In my opinion I believe sound is more conspicuous for film than color would be. What really catches the viewers is the sound. The sound creates emotion and adds more of an effect than color would.

I would say sound because it's better to know what the person is saying than rather worrying about the color. & sound kind of makes it more fun because when you watch a movie and a person is using a certain tone in their voice you can tell their emotion. Without sound you couldn't tell that. So to me the sound is more important than color !

In my opinion, I think that sound is more important then color. In movies, sound gives them a lot more emotion and excitement.Sound catches the viewers eyes and it really makes them enjoy movies more.Color is also important in film, but sound has influenced film the most.

I think color has it's pros, don't get me wrong. However, sound is different, and in my opinion, much more important. Even without the dialouge and voices, when i say sound, i mean mainly music, especially in the early 1900's. The music greatly influences the crowd's mood, interst, and definetely describes what is going on in the film. I think the music describes the tone, as well as what is going on in a film, more than any certain angle or shot. Color catches the eye, sound catches the ears. All in all, I think sound is way more important.

ReplyDeleteI think that color doesn't matter as much as sound. Sound is the main thing that brings the story to life.
ReplyDeleteI think sound is more important to film in the early 1900's. With sound you can really understand the movie better. Color is more of a luxury to film.

ReplyDeleteI think that sound influenced movies more.It makes it more realistic because it adds another sorta dimension. Instead of reading the commentary you get to hear it as it is played....
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion i think that sound is much more important and influenced film more than color has. Sound has gave voice to the characters and made us more intrigued in what were watching. black and white annoys me but silents annoys me even more.

well, in my personal opinion I agree with everyone else, sound is very important in film. Such as in action films, most of the time its the sound you hear and that's what catche's the attention of the viewer. Also sound has a wide variety of ways to collect viewers attention throughout films, color might give the films more of a vibe, but, sound is what really gives the movie quality and character. Most importantly, sound also gives hints and thoughts of what could happen next, like in horror films, the dreadful music and the eerie tones gives a hint of what possibly could happen.

In my own opinion sound is a lot more important than color. With sound you can listen to all the amazing sound affects in the film rather than to see different colors all over the movie scenes. Sound gives the audience a different feeling with the movie and understand whats going on, for example a persons emotion when they are crying it allows the people to have a connection with the movie scene.

I personally think sound influenced film more so than color. You could watch an entire movie and be so into it, and you will forget it is in black and white. You don't usually forget that there is no talking in a movie. Color is just an accessory to a movie in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think sound influenced film more than color in the 1900's. Actors could actually talk, and there could be music in the movie. You can already see what was happening in the film, but with sound you could here what was happening. In my opinion sound is more important than color.
ReplyDeleteSound has become more developed throughout earlier years and made a large impact on film history. It was much more expressive of emotion because it gave film a higher quality in detail. Sound increased the story line as well, making it easier to understand the plot. Although color was just as vital, sound is what evolved film in my preferable view.
